Digital marketing… #26: 2013.
– reach out to those electronic communities
– join in the conversation
– push our product
Digital marketing is simply defined as advertising that uses technology i.e. computers, tablets, smart or cell phones, digital billboards or gaming technologies to engage with consumers. What makes it new and uniquely different from traditional forms of advertising (like bookmarks) is that it reaches customers in a relevant, personal and cost-effective manner. What makes it so different from traditional print marketing is that it is two way, we can talk to the customer and they can talk to us and it reaches huge audiences cheaply. It really is a whole new way of connecting with customers.
Examples of digital marketing include online or internet marketing .
Below is a great two-minute clip by four marketing experts talking about how to succeed in the digital world. I think their advice is a good place to start, if you are beginning to push out the library product digitally. (I especially like the “boiled frog” comment!)
Have a great week.
